The wait is finally over! After months of speculations, Ranveer Singh has finally announced the release date of ‘83’. The much-awaited flick, which has been directed by Kabir Khan, will hit the silver screens on June 4, 2021. The ‘Gully Boy’ actor took to social media to share a poster of ‘83’ and share the film’s release date. He also revealed that the sports drama will release in five different languages.
Ranveer Singh shared the poster along with the caption, “June 4th, 2021 !!!! in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. See you in cinemas.” Fans have flooded the comments section with their messages. They couldn’t control their excitement after the ‘Padmaavat’ star announced the release date. One user wrote, “I am super excited” while another commented, “super news.”
Huma Qureshi, Maanvi Gagaroo, Saiyami Kher, Vivan Bathena and other celebs also dropped comments on the post. Vivan commented, “Finally” while Saiyami wrote, “So excited.”
‘83’, which is based on India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup victory, was originally slated to hit the silver screens on April 10, 2020. However, the makers had to postpone the film’s release due to the COVID-19 crisis. Speculations were rife that ‘83’ will release in December 2020; however, the rumours died when the producers didn’t issue any statement regarding the film.
Deepika Padukone will be seen essaying the role of Ranveer Singh’s on-screen wife in ‘83’. The movie will also feature Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil and Jatin Sharma in key roles.
Interestingly, three big films will entertain the audience in the month of June. Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Jhund’ will hit the big screens on June 18 while Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Shamshera’ will arrive in the cinemas a week later. ‘Shamshera’, which is a period action drama, also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.
Movie buffs couldn’t have asked for more as the makers of six big films announced the release date of their respective projects on Friday (February 19). After a not-so-happening 2020, cinephiles will get to enjoy films of different genre in 2021.
