Amid the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt was hospitalised due to exhaustion on Sunday, January 17. The actress returned to the sets the next day.
After returning from Ranthambore where she spent the New Year’s with beau Ranbir Kapoor and their families, Alia Bhatt resumed shooting for her upcoming movie Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directorial had gone on floors in December 2019 but the production was paused due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Alia even shared glimpses of her travelling to the shooting site to begin her work last week.
Amid the shoot of the film, the actress was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai due to exhaustion on Sunday, January 17.
After taking some rest and regaining her strength, she was discharged the same day.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Alia Bhatt, who is very professional, wants to complete her commitments, returned to the sets of Gangubai Kathiwadi on January 18, 2021.”
The Raazi actress was reportedly suffering from nausea and hyperacidity.
However, she recovered the same day and was discharged from the hospital.
Alia even went back to work the very next day.
Gangubai Kathiawadi was supposed to release in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the production and shooting schedules were delayed.
The first glimpses of Alia as Gangubai Kathiawadi were shared in January 2020. The actress featured an old blouse with a petticoat and her hair tied into two braids with ribbons.
The actress’s avatar had a rustic appeal to it and her fans praised her look. This will be Alia and SLB’s first collaboration.
The movie is about the story of the Madam of Kamathipura, who was pushed into prostitution at an early age. It is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
Besides Alia, the film also stars Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, and Seema Pahwa.
As per reports, Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, and Huma Qureshi have cameo roles in the film.
